“More people will be saved by CBD oil than surgery.” Heart surgeon claims CBD is the “most important” medicine ever discovered for treating cancer, diabetes, heart attack and more
“The discovery of the endocannabinoid system is the single most important medical, scientific discovery ever,” says retired cardiac surgeon Dr. David Allen in the video below.
“More people will be saved by manipulation of the endocannabinoid system than are currently saved by surgery.”
“When we discovered the endocannabinoid system about 30 years ago, we really didn’t understand its significance.”
The system is responsible for chemical communications in the body similar to those carried out by our endocrine (hormonal) system, Allen explains.
“We’re finding out that manipulation of this system can control diabetes, cancer and whether you can survive a heart attack or stroke,” Allen says.
The best way to manipulate the endocannabinoid system is — surprise — consumption of the cannabis plant.
Over 80 cannabinoids have been discovered in the cannabis plant. The second most prominent of those, after THC, is CBD or cannabidiol.
Unlike THC, which produces the “high” some lawmakers and corporations are so concerned about, CBD does not have a mind-altering, psychoactive component.
It’s already legal in many states and available in many health food stores. However, if the non-THC-containing hemp plant becomes legal to grow in the United States, the chemical compound will become much more widely available and likely to revolutionize Western medicine.
Below are eight medicinal uses of CBD oil
Many studies (here and here for example) show CBD oil is a promising cancer treatment, as it blocks cancer cells from spreading throughout the body, causes them to die quickly and reduces inflammation. The National Cancer Institute states that CBD oil might be useful for suppressing cancer symptoms as well as the side effects from treatments.
Type 1 diabetes is caused by the immune system attacking cells in the pancreas, which leads to chronic inflammation. Research shows that CBD might ease this inflammation and better control the body’s response to the condition, keeping those afflicted in better health.
Another study found CBD oil “shows great promise” in the treatment of difficult to treat chronic pain, such as pain from nerve damage, multiple sclerosis and spinal cord injuries. It’s also a very effective muscle relaxer.
Research shows calming effects of CBD oil for people with post-traumatic stress disorder, general anxiety, panic disorders, social anxiety disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. It can reduce symptoms of anxiety with fewer side effects than conventional medications because it naturally increases the brain’s levels of serotonin.
Thanks to its anti-seizure properties and low risk of side effects, CBD oil is considered a promising treatment option for epilepsy, especially in children. Scientists believe it works by modulating electrical and chemical activity to help quiet the excessive activity in the brain.
Alzheimer’s and Parkinon’s
Because of the way CBD oil impacts neural receptors, evidence shows that it can benefit those with neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and strokes. The oil seems especially helpful for preventing early-stage Alzheimer’s patients from losing their ability to recognize faces. Further evidence shows CBD oil may also be useful in treating mental health disorders, such as schizophrenia.
Because inflammation triggers acne, there’s evidence that the cannabinoids in CBD prevent your skin from breaking out. Research shows that CBD can slow down production in the sebaceous glands to stop the skin from overproducing oil.
Early evidence reveals that CBD oil might help people quit smoking. One study of cigarette smokers who wished to quit showed that the participants who used an inhaler with CBD compounds experienced less-severe cravings for nicotine and smoked fewer cigarettes overall than those in the placebo group. A similar studyfound that the oil might be effective against opioid abuse withdrawal symptoms.
